We were bowled over by the 50,000:1 high contrast ratio and the fact that it supports a fast refresh rate of 240Hz at 1080p resolution with a 4ms response time, suggesting that it is meant for gamers. The BenQ X3000i model features BenQ’s Dynamic Black technology, which enables quick dimming and RGB colour tweaking. The projector covers the DCI-P3 colour gamut completely at 100 per cent.

The BenQ X3000i projector has a “4LED” light source that generates 3,000 ANSI lumens and 25% more brightness and colour than a typical RGB projector. The 4LED system adds a fourth blue “pump” to the existing three blue pumps while also boosting green light production. The LED projector’s LED light source has a 30,000-hour lifespan.

The remote control which comes with the X3000i is similar to the one shipped with the BenQ GV30 Android Projector which we have reviewed earlier.

Performance

This projector provides full cinematic immersion for role-playing games. We were able to completely feel the intricacy as well as the power of the virtual world, with richly detailed ancient ruins and thrilling orchestral music and deep bass. In our tests, the FPS Mode proved quite useful for gamers, effectively pinpointing potential threats. The enhanced virtual surround stereo also aided us in locating gunshots, explosions, and approaching footfalls by revealing enemies lurking in the dark, which we found to be quite helpful.

The SPG mode is where it’s at for us, and we believe it’s intended for real-time thrills. Spectacularly lifelike grass, many skin hues, bright uniforms, and accentuated features are combined with announcers’ clear voices and the roar of the crowd to create breathtaking sports action. We were also able to move about in the dark thanks to the HDR-PRO Dynamic Black technology, which produces vivid contrast and fine shadows even in the darkest of settings. We had two degrees of Black Details Enhancement to pick from to help us get even more visibility in dark regions, depending on the game we were playing.

In terms of connectivity, X3000i is equipped with 2.4/5GHz dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 out of the box. BenQ claims that the light source life span is available for 20000hours in Normal and SmartEco mode and 30000 in Eco mode.

Conclusion

The BenQ X3000i projector comes with 10W BenQ treVolo speakers and Bongiovi Digital Power Station (DPS) technology for real-time sound optimization. For video gaming, the projector offers 3 audio and video settings such as first-person shooter, sports, and role-playing games. The X3000i comes with three different game modes and a slew of gaming possibilities that aren’t available on other consoles.

The BenQ 4K HDR Gaming projector lacks the HDMI 2.1 and 4K 120fps support, However, it offers Android TV support, powered with Android 10 allowing you to view streamed applications and other online content.
